Jobs Seach Basics

Searching in the Bay Area for PA jobs can be dificult, be sure to cover your basic search online. Try the following resources:

check for healthcare jobs on Craigslist , the Bay Area local source for just about everything.

Physicianassistantjobs.com

Medicalworkers.com

Google type in: Physician + Assistant + Job + San Francisco

midlevelpractitioners.com

panpjobs.com

medicaljobsonline.com

PAWorld.net - huge database of jobs! Impressive listings although I find this somewhat confusing to navigate

MedOpportunities.com- a site developed and dedicated exclusively to midlevel practitioners

check with your specialty organization for their listings: see our links page for those URL's. Most sites often offer job desriptions, salary profiles and job specifics. I used it recently to plead my case for more autonomy with a pre-printed job desription!

Check with the AAPA if you are a member

All PA's practicing in California should be members of CAPA - as you know, state legislation which governs how we actually practice is decided at the state level. CAPA works tirelessly using our membership money to hire a lawyer and our very own PA lobbyist to work on bettering PA practice in California. Your membership in CAPA is far more important for your day to day livelihood than even membership in AAPA. Members can check their usually large list of jobs listings, most of which are not listed on our page!

Try a residency if you're a new graduate: APPAP

Kaiser: it is tricky to look for PA jobs in Kaiser's website as they are not put in with the "allied health" jobs. In the job listings page, scroll down under "Area of Interest" to "Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant" www.kp.org
